Change is needed
Let’s create a wellbeing-centred leadership revolution

Our Vision
Imagine a world where leadership fuels vitality. Where people thrive because of their work, not despite it. Where organisational success, human flourishing, and the wellbeing of our planet are not competing priorities, but natural partners.
This is the promise of wellbeing-centred leadership - the next evolution in leadership thinking.

Wellbeing-Centred Leadership
Our wellbeing-centred approach to leadership drives high performance while putting the health, energy, and resilience of people at its heart. This is leadership that sustains, not depletes.

It’s about shaping the future we want to see, enabling people to bring their best, and creating ripple effects of change that extend far beyond the workplace.
It recognises that leaders at all levels set the tone for the environments they create, and that thriving people contribute to thriving teams, organisations, societies, and a thriving planet.
It’s no longer good enough to fill organisations with people who are merely surviving.
The leaders and organisations who succeed in the years ahead will be those who create the conditions in which people and performance can flourish.
Why We Need A New Style Of Leadership
Around the world, we are facing a health and wellbeing crisis. Rates of mental and physical illness are rising sharply. One in four people now experiences a mental health issue each year, while chronic stress and screen-bound, sedentary lives erode our vitality.
In workplaces, many leaders and teams feel the strain. Relentless change, constant messages, and mounting expectations sap clarity, creativity, and energy. The long-held belief that success requires endless hours and sacrifice is no longer serving people or organisations.
At the root of these crises lies our collective failure to put health and wellbeing at the heart of how we live and lead.

The Evidence for Wellbeing-Led Change
We now have compelling evidence for the power of wellbeing-centred leadership. When people feel well, they work well.
Research from the University of Warwick found that happier employees are 12% more productive, and a major 2023 study by Oxford University’s Wellbeing Research Centre linked high levels of employee wellbeing to stronger company profits across 1,600 organisations.

Right now though, too many people aren’t feeling this way. According to Gallup’s 2025 State of the Global Workplace report, only 21% of employees are engaged at work, and just 33% of employees globally say they are thriving - a figure that continues to decline year on year. Gallup estimates that the opportunity cost of this is $9.6 trillion in unrealised economic value, equivalent to around 9% of global GDP.

The message is clear: wellbeing isn’t a luxury or a ‘nice-to-have’ - it’s a vital, strategic imperative. When leaders take wellbeing seriously and build cultures that support it, they unlock greater engagement, stronger performance, and lasting results.

The Invitation
At Make a Bigger Difference, we’re walking a different path of leadership, and we invite you to join us.
Humanity is at a crossroads. We can continue leading in ways that drain people and potential, or we can step into the next evolution of leadership, where people and performance thrive together.

Our ambition with wellbeing-centred leadership is to amplify the positive impact organisations can make, and to contribute to a healthier human future by creating more wellbeing and thriving in the world.
